Job Summary: As a Branch Credit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all credit-related activities within the branch. Your primary duties will include credit analysis, risk assessment, credit policy development, credit underwriting, debt recovery oversight, customer relationship management, credit reporting, and collateral management. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy credit portfolio while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis to assess the creditworthiness of potential borrowers by analyzing their financial statements and other relevant data.
- Perform risk assessments to determine the level of credit risk associated with each borrower and transaction.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate credit applications and make informed decisions on approving or declining credit based on established criteria and risk assessment.
- Monitor the credit performance of borrowers and take proactive measures to address any delinquencies or potential defaults.
- Oversee debt collection efforts to ensure timely recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their credit needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Generate regular reports on credit-related metrics and performance to track portfolio quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate and manage collateral provided by borrowers to secure credit facilities effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and risk management, to support business objectives and mitigate credit risks.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Finance, CA, CS, ICWA, PGDBM/PGDBA, or equivalent with relevant specialization in Quantitative Analysis, Finance, or Economics from a reputed institution.
- Additional certifications such as CFA, CAIIB, CA, CS, or equivalent will be advantageous.
- Proven experience in credit analysis, underwriting, and management, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, risk assessment techniques, and credit policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions independently while adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
