Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AVS (Azure VMware Solutions) Solution Architect with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in VMware vSphere, HCX operations, and AVS deployments, with a proven track record of successful datacenter migrations and on-premises to cloud migrations across various cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex AVS solutions, leveraging VMware vSphere and HCX technologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in HCX operations, providing guidance and leadership in datacenter migration and on-premises to cloud migration strategies.
- Architect and execute HCX migrations utilizing various migration types, including Vmotion, Cold, Bulk, RAV, and OSAM, tailored to meet specific client requirements.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in HCX technology, including versions 4.2 to 4.8, and adapt migration strategies accordingly to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and cloud service providers to ensure seamless integration and migration to the cloud, regardless of the chosen platform (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google).
- Utilize VMware NSX basics to enhance migration capabilities and ensure network security and efficiency during migration activities.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing on-premises environments to develop migration plans aligned with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering continuous learning and development within the team.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing technical inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing expert guidance throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including architectural diagrams, migration plans, and best practices, to support the successful implementation of AVS solutions and HCX migrations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in designing and implementing complex AVS solutions, VMware vSphere environments, and HCX migrations.
- Expertise in HCX operations, with hands-on experience in datacenter migration and on-premises to cloud migration strategies.
- Proficiency in various types of HCX migrations, including Vmotion, Cold, Bulk, RAV, and OSAM, with a demonstrated ability to execute migrations at scale.
- In-depth knowledge of HCX versions 4.2 to 4.8, with the ability to adapt to newer versions and leverage new features and enhancements.
- Extensive experience in AVS deployments, with a strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices.
- Solid understanding of VMware NSX basics and its role in facilitating secure and efficient migrations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion within established timelines and budgets.
