Job Description: Lead – Employee Relations (ER)
Location: Trivandrum – Head Office
Industry: BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance)
We are seeking a competent and experienced Lead for Employee Relations (ER) to manage various HR and industrial relations functions at our Trivandrum Head Office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing employee relations, handling HR litigation, compliance, and engaging with unions and labor associations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations & Disciplinary Management:
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, industrial relations, and HR litigation within the organization.
- Handle end-to-end disciplinary processes, including conducting HR investigations, departmental inquiries, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Union & Labor Relations:
- Negotiate with unions and labor associations, ensuring settlements are in compliance with organizational policies and labor laws.
- Maintain industrial relations with multiple unions and play an active role in negotiations.
- Legal Compliance & Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations such as Shops and Establishment Act, Contract Labour Laws, and Civil & Consumer Laws.
- Oversee matters related to contract labor, including the Contract Labor Registration Act process.
- Handle HR-related court cases and litigation across India.
- Policy Development & Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and manage policies and programs related to employment, employee relations, wage and salary administration, training, health, safety, and benefits.
- Ensure policies and programs align with company goals, regulatory requirements, and governmental regulations.
- Multi-Union Employee Relations:
- Manage relations with multiple unions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, compliance, and conflict resolution.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with government authorities, labor consultants, and advocates for IR and court-related matters.
- Act as a liaison to ensure that the organization is compliant with relevant statutes and regulations.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and supervise the ER & IR team, providing guidance and support for the professional development of staff.
This is a leadership role that requires a candidate with a strong understanding of labor laws, union management, and ER & IR processes.
