Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MS SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in MS SQL database administration, with a strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain MS SQL database instances across development, testing, and production environments.
2. Perform database performance tuning and optimization, including query optimization, index tuning, and database configuration.
3. Monitor database system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
4. Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including user access management, data encryption, and auditing.
5. Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, including performance problems, database corruption, and connectivity issues.
7. Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related projects and initiatives.
8. Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in MS SQL database technology and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 5 to 8 years of experience in MS SQL database administration in a production environment.
3. Strong understanding of MS SQL database architecture, including database design, normalization, and optimization.
4. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
5. Proficiency in database backup and recovery strategies, including experience with SQL Server Backup and Restore functionality.
6. Experience with database security concepts and best practices, including user access management, encryption, and auditing.
7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
10. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
