Network Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer with a focus on Palo Alto Networks to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, and managing Palo Alto firewalls in large-scale environments. You will be responsible for providing expertise in the design, deployment, and optimization of security solutions to protect the organization’s network infrastructure from cyber threats. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls (hardware and virtual) for the protection of the organization’s internal and external networks.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation strategies to identify and address potential security risks.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure robust security measures and compliance with industry best practices.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Palo Alto next-generation firewalls (NGFW) for complex security policies, VPNs, NAT, and routing.
• Lead implementation projects for security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and advanced security features such as App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and proactive security incident response to mitigate risks and minimize impact.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex security incidents, managing escalations and working with the team to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Regularly update and patch Palo Alto firewall systems to ensure they are secure and up to date.
• Stay informed on the latest cyber threats and vulnerability trends, ensuring security measures are always adapted accordingly.
• Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and training to internal teams as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall technologies, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and associated features (e.g., SSL VPN, IPSec VPN, GlobalProtect).
• In-depth knowledge of security technologies such as IPS/IDS, VPNs, NAT, proxy services, URL filtering, and application control.
• Familiarity with routing and switching protocols, as well as Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
• Advanced understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, etc.) and how they are implemented and secured.
• Ability to design and implement complex security policies, rules, and traffic filtering on Palo Alto firewalls.
• Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE – Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) is highly preferred.
• Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of SIEM tools and incident response processes.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) is a plus.
